Former MPs’ Forum, Nepal (FMPFN) is an organization working for Democracy a Parliamentary development in Nepal and in Global Level. It was established in 2000 A.D. All The members of Parliament former members of parliament can take part in the creative activities organized by the Forum. Legislative Parliament secretariat has given consultative status to it. Speaker of the parliament is the patron. It acts for all affairs including study and research related to the parliamentary system by activating the Former and Present MPs for the promotion of the Federal Democratic Republic and the Parliamentary System.

The main objectives of Former MPs’ Forum, Nepal (FMPFN) are:

  • to give and take the necessary advice and suggestions strengthening the mutual relationship in coordination with the Forum and Legislature Parliament,
  • To conduct and inspire the study and research relating to the Parliamentary Practice.
  • To activate for the protection and development of the national interest by organizing the Former MPS and to contribute the parliamentary system with the experiences and qualifications of them.
  • To develop awareness among political parties, MPs and the common people regarding democracy, Human Rights and the role of the people’s representatives in reference to the Federal Democratic System and its goal as well as the norms and values.
  • To take  necessary actions for democracy, human rights and constitutional development in contact and coordination with Former MPs, Government of Nepal and national and international associations and institutions of the same nature.
  • To open a library and a reading room for the parliamentary study.
  • manage for publications of journals, books and periodicals related to the parliamentary study.
  • To hold national and international level meetings, seminars and programs mobilizing different types of sources in reference to the parliamentary study and practice.
  • To generate and to be generated the different types of social and other creative works to wipe out the disorders and disparities like corruption, nepotism and favoritism.
  • To inform, support and suggest the parliament and parliamentarians with different types of sources.
  • To hold national seminars of Former MPs from time to time for discussions in the current issues and problems and pressurize the related bodies to execute the decisions.
